I'm looking to install an RTX 4060 in my PC, which is about three years old. Here are my specs: Ryzen 5 Pro 4650G CPU, 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3200MHz RAM, a Gigabyte B450M-H Micro ATX motherboard, 120GB SATA SSD, and a 2TB Toshiba 7200RPM HDD. I'm considering the 4060 mainly because of its lower power consumption. I know my CPU might bottleneck it in many games at 1080p, and unfortunately, I can't upgrade my power supply since it's not allowed. Should I go ahead and install the 4060, or would it make more sense to switch to a different GPU? I'm not interested in going for an RTX 3050 or any GTX options, as I need it for gaming as well as video editing and recording.

Changing the power supply could really help, but if that's not an option for you, I wouldn’t recommend going for the RTX 4060 at all, especially if it's pricey. It's better than your integrated graphics for sure, but keep in mind that other parts of your system will limit its performance. If you do get the 4060, you might want to set it to a lower power mode to avoid crashing, but that does mean losing some performance. Might be better to wait for a better upgrade overall!
If the 4060 is only slightly more than a 3060 where you live, then it could still be worth it for the upgrade, even if you have some bottlenecking. Just know that it might not give you the full experience at 1080p. You could play around with settings to find a sweet spot if you go this route!
Yeah, I noticed that the price difference isn't huge, but it's frustrating that I can't swap out the PSU.
But I'm curious, how much are the prices for other GPUs like the 3060 or 3050 in your area?
