Hey everyone! So here's the deal: My brother needs a new PC since he can't upgrade to Windows 11. I'm planning to give him my current setup and upgrade my own rig. I'm considering skipping the 50-series and waiting for the new RTX 5080 Super or the upcoming 6080. Meanwhile, I want to buy a new CPU, motherboard, RAM, power supply, etc., and just use my SSDs and old RTX 3060 Ti as a temporary GPU until I can upgrade to the new card. I'd love to get your thoughts or suggestions on this plan! Here's my build link: [PCPartPicker](https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/VXNtjn). Thanks!

For sure, go with the 6080! The jump in performance from the 4080 to the 5080 seems lackluster compared to what we're expecting with the 6080. It looks like a much better option for long-term performance.
I think it might be worth looking at the 5070 Ti for around $699, especially considering the potential pricing of the 5080. It sounds like the 5080 Super is still a ways off and could hit prices around $1000, and I’m not sure it’ll deliver enough performance to justify that over a 5070 Ti. If you're in Europe, definitely check the local pricing too; I wouldn't pay a huge premium for that performance jump.
Honestly, I'm a bit skeptical about the 5080 Super even becoming a real product. I've seen too many people hold off on vital upgrades, waiting for rumored releases that may not happen. If you're waiting for a card that hasn't been confirmed, you could end up with a long wait without any guarantee. Just be careful about holding your breath for the next big thing!
If your 3060 Ti is still doing the job, waiting for the new generation could be a solid plan. You can see what kind of value the 5080 Super brings once it's launched. However, if you want an upgrade sooner, the 5080 or 5070 Ti both offer better performance right now without the uncertainty of whether the Super cards will even drop.
I'd get the 9800X3D for sure alongside the 5080 now. The 3060 Ti is decent but honestly, it's got its limits. If you're looking for a real upgrade, don't cheap out!
But why the 9800X3D specifically? The 7800X3D offers almost the same performance for a lot less. Plus, let's not forget that the 3060 Ti can still hold its own in a lot of scenarios, especially at 1080p.

Totally agree! Waiting for unconfirmed products can lead to a lot of disappointment. It's better to make a decision based on your current needs rather than on speculative hype.
