I currently have a Ryzen 5 5700X and a GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, and I've been experiencing some low FPS in games. I've read mixed opinions about whether upgrading to the Ryzen 9 5950X or the Ryzen 7 5800X would benefit my gaming performance. Some say the Ryzen 7 is better suited for gaming while the Ryzen 9 is more for workstation tasks. Since I primarily game and don't do video editing, I'm curious if the Ryzen 9 is really not worth it for gaming purposes or if it actually offers any benefits for gaming performance. What are your thoughts?

Honestly, I’d say neither of those CPUs would give you a noticeable boost in gaming. The 5800X is just slightly faster than your current CPU. Are you sure your CPU is the bottleneck? It’d help to share your rig specs, what games you're playing, and your resolution to get a better picture.

I have 32GB of DDR4 RAM and usually play games like Marvel Rivals, Overwatch, and RPGs like Elden Ring. My FPS seems fine at times, but it gets stuttery, especially in more demanding titles.
