I'm currently using an MSI RTX 3060 12 GB, an i5-12400f processor, and an ASROCK B660M Pro RS motherboard with 32 GB of RAM. I'm considering upgrading to the Intel Core i5-14600K, which I could get for around $239 with discounts. I primarily work on programming and AI in Linux, but I also play some games like Baldur's Gate 3 and Cyberpunk. With my setup, particularly my main monitor being 1440p, would this upgrade provide a noticeable improvement?

If your i5-12400f is still performing well, then upgrading might not be necessary. However, if you're feeling its limitations or just want a better experience, the i5-14600K would definitely give you a nice boost. It shouldn't hurt your performance, especially for your dual-monitor setup!
The i5-12400f can handle the RTX 3060 pretty well, especially while gaming. You probably won't see much of an FPS increase, apart from maybe in esports titles. If you plan to upgrade your GPU in the future, then it might be worth considering the i5-14600K right now.
