Should I Upgrade to the RTX 5070 or Consider Another GPU?

Hey everyone! I'm thinking about upgrading my PC with an RTX 5070. My current setup includes a Ryzen 5 5600X CPU, 16GB of DDR4-3600 RAM, and an RTX 2080 SUPER GPU. I found a good deal for the RTX 5070 at around $550, especially since I'm getting a free power supply that's valued at about $100. This upgrade would really help as I'd like to pass my 2080 SUPER to my fiancée's PC, which needs a new power supply as well. I'm curious if there are better options out there, should I wait for a better deal, or if this is as good as it gets. My budget is flexible but I'd like to stay near that $650 mark for both the GPU and PSU. I use my PC for gaming, programming, and editing software like Photoshop and Premiere. Thanks for any advice!

Have you considered the 5060 Ti? It has more VRAM at 16GB, which might be beneficial if you do a lot of video editing. Just a thought!

That's interesting! But isn't the 16/12GB difference not really double?

You might want to look into price matching at Best Buy. They can match the MSI Shadow 2X OC 5070 that's listed for $580 at Microcenter. Pair that with a slightly better ASRock PSU to save a bit of cash!

If you're open to AMD, the RX 9070 could be a better option. It's a bit faster and comes with 16GB VRAM, likely at a cheaper price point.

I say go for the RTX 5070! It’s a solid choice for 1440p gaming and the power supply you’re getting is rated well (A-B tier). Sounds like a good deal overall!
