Understanding BitTitan MigrationWiz for Migrating Emails Between MS365 Tenants

I'm considering purchasing licenses for BitTitan MigrationWiz to migrate mailboxes between two different MS365 tenants. Essentially, I'm moving from one domain ([mydomain1.com](http://mydomain1.com)) to another ([my2ndomain.com](http://my2ndomain.com)). Before I proceed, I have a couple of questions about the migration process:

1. Does the mailbox migration maintain the same folder structure as the source? For instance, if I have folders like folder1 and folder2 in the source inbox, will they appear the same way in the destination inbox?

2. If I do a delta migration after the initial migration (which may not have been done using BitTitan), will it only migrate new or changed items from the source? Or does BitTitan just look for existing items and duplicate them?

Just a heads up, Microsoft now offers a native migration tool for email, which might be worth checking out! Here's a link to the overview: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/enterprise/migration-orchestrator-1-overview?view=o365-worldwide.

Hey! Personally, I'd suggest avoiding MigrationWiz if you have other options. AvePoint Fly is a much better choice in terms of performance and support. But to answer your questions:

1. Yes, your folder structure will be preserved in the migration. So if you have folder1 and folder2 in the source, they'll show up the same way in the destination inbox unless you choose otherwise.

2. For delta migrations, it will only migrate items that are new or have changed since the last migration, regardless of whether it was done with BitTitan or not. That's pretty standard across migration tools.

Quick note: I was put off by not seeing pricing directly on the AvePoint website, so that’s something to consider. As for your second question, it’s important to know that if the first migration wasn't done using their tools, they look for changes in the items. They don't necessarily rely on a checkpoint specific to the tool; they just compare what's already there.

I've used MigrationWiz for several M365 migrations, and to answer your queries:

1. Yes, the folder structure transfers exactly as it is.

2. Yes, it does a delta migration too, so it will only transfer new or modified items since the last migration.
