Should I Use Thermal Paste After 4 Years Without It?

I bought a low-end PC in 2021 mainly for school, and while replacing the cooler this week, I discovered it didn't have any thermal paste applied at all. Surprisingly, the machine has performed decently and hasn't overheated while playing older games. Now that I'm aware of this, what should I do? Also, which thermal paste would be best to use?

You can just slap on some cheap non-conductive thermal paste. Your PC has been running fine for this long, so it should be good to go with that!

Alrighty! Thanks, man

There are solid options like Arctic MX-4, MX-5, or Noctua NT-H1. They're all pretty much on par with one another in terms of performance and price. By the way, your new cooler should have come with some paste included.

Yes, it did. Thanks for the recommendations!
