Should I worry about the age of my new hard drives?

I recently ordered two larger hard drives to clone my existing drives. However, I've noticed that one of them was produced two years ago while the other is just one year old. They are both the same make and model, but I'm a bit anxious about using the older drive. Should I be concerned about the age of the two-year-old drive, and do you have any recommendations?

If the older hard drive hasn't been used for a couple of years, it shouldn't be a major issue. New drives can sit in storage for a while without losing functionality, especially if they're still sealed. Just make sure to check them once they're connected to your PC.

Honestly, I still use drives that are way older without any problems. I have HDDs from as far back as 2010 that work great. A two-year-old drive isn't something to stress over, especially if it's in good condition.

Did you check if they were listed as former server units when you bought them? Sometimes they have different reliability expectations if that's the case.
