Spilled Milk on My Laptop—Am I in Trouble?

I accidentally spilled some milk on part of my laptop's keyboard, but not all over it. I acted quickly and shut it down, soaking up as much milk as I could with a cloth and drying it off with a towel. After that, I turned it back on, and everything seemed fine. Still feeling a bit uneasy, I shut it down again and turned it upside down. Now I'm wondering, should I be worried about any long-term damage? What should I do next?

You definitely want to be cautious here. It's best to open up your laptop and clean it with at least 90% rubbing alcohol to prevent any corrosion or other issues down the line. Just make sure you don't power it back on until you're sure it's completely clean and dry!

Totally agree—using a clean toothbrush can help get into the nooks. Just don’t rush the drying process!

I recommend taking it to a service center. A friend of mine had a similar spill, and it eventually led to an ant infestation because of the sugar in the milk. Don't risk that kind of problem!

Haha, sounds like a plot twist for a bug-themed horror movie!

Be thorough with your cleaning! Modern laptops can be tricky, but disassembling it for a proper clean with alcohol should help. Remember that with milk, the smell can linger if you don’t clean it well enough!

Can't stress this enough: switch it off and let it dry completely. Every bit of moisture counts, and if you can, disassemble it for a better clean. Better safe than sorry!

Make sure to leave it to air dry for at least 48 hours. If you turn it on too soon, you could create problems if there's still moisture inside. And definitely remove the battery while it dries!
