Steam Deck Keyboard Issues in Firefox and Chrome

I'm using a Steam Deck in desktop mode as a mini PC, and I've run into a frustrating issue where my keyboard only works partially in Firefox and Chrome. Sometimes, it refuses to recognize inputs from certain keys, specifically 'w', 'j', and 'n'. This isn't a problem with the websites themselves since I've tested with JavaScript and found that the key events aren't being captured. Other applications work perfectly, so it just seems to affect the web browsers sporadically. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Have you tried checking the version of your browsers? Sometimes updates can bring bugs along with fixes. Also, make sure to check your operating system—if it's not fully updated, that might cause compatibility issues with certain apps.

Yeah, my SteamOS is up to date and I'm using Firefox 144.0.2 from Flathub and Chrome 141.0.7390.122-1. It's just puzzling because most functions work fine!

It might be worth checking your keyboard settings within SteamOS. Sometimes, key bindings or accessibility features can mess with how inputs are detected in specific applications. Try switching those off and see if that helps!

Good idea! I’ll go through the keyboard settings and see if anything looks off.
