Hey everyone, I'm not super tech-savvy, but I'm noticing some odd behavior with my laptop's CPU and memory usage. When I have just the task manager open, it shows about 30% memory usage and 20% CPU usage, with 91 background processes running. Is this normal? Also, sometimes the CPU usage spikes to 90%, even though the task manager displays less than 1% usage for open processes. Any insights would be really appreciated!

From what you've described, it doesn’t seem like you have a serious issue. Those numbers you've mentioned aren’t unusual. You can sort the columns in your task manager to find out which processes are consuming the most CPU or memory. That should give you a clearer picture.
Thanks! I’ll check that and let you know what I find.
It might help if you can share some screenshots of the processes and their usage. There are a few reasons why your CPU could spike randomly, along with your memory load. Without seeing what’s happening, it’s hard to determine if it’s a normal behavior.
I noticed that the Antimalware Service Executable uses about 150 MB, which isn’t surprising. It seems like Microsoft OneDrive and Windows Explorer are the ones that spike unexpectedly. They can jump to over 10% CPU usage at times.
