I've recently migrated to a new ERP solution that's set up to run invoices nightly. Currently, this process sends PDF invoices to a service called "Mocom Automail," which then uses our legacy Exchange server to distribute the emails to customers. However, I've been facing significant issues with email throttling on the Exchange server due to the high volume of emails sent. I'm reaching out to see how others have addressed similar situations.
One potential solution I'm considering is setting up our firewall as a connector to our Office 365 tenant, allowing the automail server to route outgoing emails through this connector. Before I proceed, I understand that tools like Mailgun or Sendgrid exist for managing bulk emails, but convincing my superiors to invest in these services is a challenge. It's worth noting that I'm not the primary sysadmin; I work as an IT support engineer and need to get approval for any substantial changes in our configuration. Can anyone share their experiences with bulk email sending in similar setups?

Brevo comes highly recommended and is budget-friendly too. Don't overlook it as a viable option!
Honestly, if your budget allows for around 100 bucks a month for a service that ensures reliable customer notifications, it's worth the investment. Lack of funding might indicate deeper issues within the organization.
Sendgrid is another option if you're considering tools to manage bulk emails. It does require a bit more automation setup, but it can handle millions of emails per day. Other options like Mailchimp are user-friendly and manageable for sending around 6K emails daily.
You could set up something like Exim or Postfix to handle bulk sending of 6K emails easily. The challenge lies in ensuring deliverability and managing the sender's reputation, especially with larger services like Outlook and Gmail. They tend to block new servers that flood them with emails unless there's a solid reputation backing them.
How many emails are you planning to send? Services like Postmark are pretty affordable and might be worth looking into. I manage bulk emails with an on-premise Sendmail setup, but that can get tricky sometimes.
On a busy day, we're sending at least 6,000 emails between 8 PM and 10 PM, plus around 300 dispatch notes per hour during the day.

I totally get that, but I’m not the decision-maker here. I can suggest it, but getting it approved is another story.
