Struggled to Fix Mouse Lag and Now My Devices Are Not Working

I've been having a frustrating time with my Logitech Hero G502 mouse that started lagging recently. To troubleshoot, I followed a suggestion to check device management for drivers and switch them around, but this made my mouse completely unresponsive. I thought I could use my drawing tablet (XP-Pen Artist 24 Pro) as a workaround, but now that isn't working either! I've tried all the typical fixes: restarting my computer, switching USB ports, updating drivers, and even installing the Logitech Hub. My brother did his best to help by uninstalling all mouse devices to reinstall them automatically when the computer restarted, but that didn't help either. Now, I can only get my old HyperX mouse to work, but it's lagging like the Logitech did. To clarify, all my devices are wired, including the drawing tablet which uses a USB cable and a DisplayPort for the screen. Here's a breakdown of what's happening:

Logitech Hero G502: RGB lights up but the laser isn't functioning, can't click or move.
XP-Pen Artist 24 Pro: Pen detects pressure, but in mouse mode, I can't move the cursor outside the main monitor. Can't read clicks with the pen.
HyperX Mouse: Functional, but suffering from lag, causing the cursor to hitch intermittently.

I've tried the Windows troubleshooter, searching for driver updates, and even changing USB ports, but nothing seems to work. I really need some help!

Since you mentioned your desktop is relatively new, it sounds like the driver issue is the main suspect. Have you tried reseating your video card and RAM? Sometimes a simple hardware adjustment can clear up lag issues. Also, make sure your video drivers are all up to date. If the lag coincided with changes in display settings, it might be worth going back and reverting to the previous settings to see if it helps.

Glad to hear your Logitech is working again, but if it’s still lagging, you might want to consider a few more steps. Sometimes outdated Windows drivers can cause these issues, so check for any pending updates that might have been skipped. Also, consider whether any hardware might be failing or if anything new has been introduced to your setup that could be interfering. I've seen faulty DisplayPort cables cause strange lag issues, so that's worth checking too! What Windows version are you running? Might help narrow things down further.

If your tablet is giving you issues with moving the cursor, it might be a conflict with the mouse drivers you've been switching around. Have you fully reset any tablet settings? Sometimes they can get stuck in configurations that cause odd behavior. It's also advisable to uninstall any unused or unused drivers. Once you’ve cleared that out, replug the tablet and let it recognize itself fresh.
