Hey everyone! I'm in a bit of a bind trying to access the BIOS on my MSI B840 CV Wifi motherboard for a fresh Windows installation. My wife just got me a new PC, and I planned to swap my M.2 SSD from my old one to keep my WD SN850X. Initially, everything booted fine, but after swapping the SSD, I can't seem to get into the BIOS at all. I've tried clearing the CMOS battery through various methods, booting without the SSD, and even attempted recovery mode from Windows, but nothing seems to work. I've only been able to access the BIOS twice, where I tried changing the boot order and disabling secure boot, but still no success. My specs are: Motherboard: MSI B840 CV Wifi, GPU: MSI RTX5080, CPU: Ryzen 9 9900X. I'm really hoping to get this fixed! Any suggestions?

Hey there! This might sound a bit odd, but when you try accessing the BIOS, start mashing the key right after you power it on. Sometimes with M.2 drives, if you wait too long, it's too late! Also, confirm whether it's the 'Del' key or possibly 'F2' or 'F8' for your board's BIOS, as those can be common alternatives.
You can also try using a command in Windows to force the BIOS to launch. Run Command Prompt as an admin and use: shutdown /r /fw /t 0. This should prompt the system to restart directly to BIOS, which might save you some hassle!
Have you tried switching keyboards? I once had an issue with a custom keyboard that took too long to register key presses. It thwarts accessing BIOS because if you hit the BIOS key too fast, it won't recognize it right away. Simple USB keyboards work better in these situations!
