I'm currently working on my college capstone project and I need to create a Windows Server virtual machine on Azure as part of my requirements. However, I seem to be unable to choose any server VMs with my Azure Student plan. Is there a known issue with availability right now? I specifically need an Azure Read-Only Domain Controller (RODC) or I won't be able to complete my project.

It sounds frustrating! There could be several issues here. To help diagnose, it's important to know things like what region you're trying to deploy in, the SKU of the VMs, your resource quota, and the specific error messages you're encountering. For a project like yours, I’d recommend using a B2as_v2 VM with a Windows Server 2025 small disk image on a standard HDD OS disk to keep costs down.

I tried that setup too, but I'm getting the error 'nosubscriptionavailable' in every region. I might just switch to AWS for now.
