Struggling to Get My Refund After Cancelling an iPhone Order

Hey everyone, I ordered an iPhone 16 on July 7th with same-day delivery from apple.com, but they couldn't deliver on that day. After contacting Apple support, I decided to cancel the order. Initially, they told me I would get a refund in two days, but when I called again, they said the money wasn't withdrawn from my account. The problem is, the full amount was taken out, and my bank confirmed that there are no holds on the transaction—they even sent me a receipt as proof. I called Apple once more, and after that chat, I received an email stating my payment authorization would be released in two days. However, my bank still hasn't seen any refund or release of authorization, and I keep getting the same email from Apple. Has anyone else cancelled an order like this? What was your experience?

I get it, this is tricky! I'm an officer on a ship, so I travel quite a bit too. Even though my card is from Turkey, I can confirm that money was entirely withdrawn. It’s odd that Apple showed you as not billed after you contacted them. They need to clear this up because you clearly have proof from your bank. Trying reaching out to Apple support again and bring that receipt up! If nothing happens, contacting consumer protection might help.

Honestly, sometimes you just need to wait a bit. Give it until Monday and see if there's any update. Refunds can be slow, but after already two days, hopefully, you’ll get good news soon!

It sounds frustrating! If you're in the U.S., according to Apple, they process refunds right away once they receive the canceled order. Refunds to credit cards typically take about five days after that. Keep an eye on the tracking number, and if it shows your item didn't leave Apple, you should definitely push for that refund. Just make sure to note who you talk to during this process for your records.
