I'm trying to connect an older monitor to my brand new PC using HDMI as a second display, but my PC isn't recognizing it at all. I've confirmed the cable works because I've tested it with other monitors, and the monitor is definitely powered on. I'm using an AMD Radeon RX 7600 graphics card along with Windows 11, and all my drivers are updated. However, when I attempt to detect the second monitor through the display settings, it says it doesn't see any additional monitors. A friend mentioned that a driver update once caused their second monitor issues, but since this is a new PC, I can't roll back to an older driver because it's the only one that's ever been installed. I would appreciate any suggestions on how to resolve this issue!

Updating graphics drivers is crucial, especially for AMD cards. Since you’ve confirmed that you’re using an AMD Radeon RX 7600, make sure to download the AMD Radeon Software. It should help you install the right drivers for your card and potentially fix any detection issues with your second monitor. Give that a go and see if it helps!
First things first, make sure both monitors are connected directly to your Radeon graphics card and not to the HDMI port on the motherboard. If the driver for your Radeon card isn't installed properly, Windows might be defaulting to a basic driver which only supports one monitor. Check your device manager to see if the Radeon driver is showing up there. If it's using the Windows default, try reinstalling the Radeon driver. That could do the trick!
