I had Adobe Acrobat Reader on my computer, but I had to uninstall it for some reason. Now, when I try to reinstall it, I'm hitting roadblocks. Initially, it said that an 'older version' was still installed, even though there's no version on my computer. Now I'm facing an error related to config.msi. I've done everything I could think of: deleted all Adobe files from my system, manually downloaded the installer, and tried using the Microsoft Store, but nothing works. I can't seem to find the config.msi folder either, despite having 'Show hidden folders' enabled. I really need to get this working before my exam in a few days since I need to read PDFs to study. Any suggestions?

Sounds like there might be leftover files in your registry from Acrobat. Adobe offers a registry cleaner specifically for this, so it could be worth a shot. It might help clear out any remnants that are causing the issues.
Have you thought about using alternative PDF readers like Sumatra PDF or Okular? Acrobat can be a bit overkill if you just need to read PDFs. Plus, those readers are pretty lightweight and might serve your needs better without the hassle of reinstalling Acrobat.
Honestly, many browsers have built-in PDF viewers that work fine! I can’t remember the last time I actually installed Adobe Reader. I only have full Acrobat on one PC for editing, but I find the browser's PDF capabilities to be more than enough for regular reading.
