Hi everyone! I'm dealing with ADHD and trying to get the hang of coding, specifically Python. I'm finding it really tough and often feel overwhelmed, which leads me to need to take breaks for a few days. I'm looking for tips on how to better retain information and keep my motivation up because I'm really struggling.

As a fellow ADHD coder, I found that hands-on resources are super effective. Check out the Python MOOC by the University of Helsinki, or CS50P by Harvard. They provide interactive experiences that can really suit different learning styles. Also, sometimes it helps to follow multiple sources depending on your mood!
One thing that really helped me was setting aside a specific time each day to practice. Maybe start with short sessions so you don't get burned out. Try sticking to a single course or project until you finish it, and schedule it so you build a routine.
Lol, sounds like me! It’s a classic ADHD move. But yeah, short and sweet sessions definitely help with keeping focus.
I totally get where you're coming from! Just remember, practice is key. You might not need to learn something new all the time; spend time reinforcing what you've already learned. It helps a lot in building a solid foundation.
Make it a rewarding experience! Try to find exciting projects or tasks, so you're engaged and motivated. If something isn’t working for you, don’t hesitate to switch it up. Finding your own rhythm will help tremendously, trust me. Just keep at it and allow yourself to explore!
It's more about practice than memorization. Focus on understanding that a function exists rather than stressing to remember every little detail about it. Coding is all about problem-solving and using what you know, so don’t worry about the exact syntax right away.
I’m loving Angela Yu’s 100 Days of Code on Udemy! It's really engaging!
