Hey everyone,
I'm in a bit of a tough spot and I'm hoping to hear from anyone who might have faced something similar. Back in 2024, I found out that I couldn't take AWS certification exams online anymore after a violation during a previous test. The issue was that while I was taking the exam, my dad accidentally came into the room and I turned to tell him I was in the middle of something. This led to me being flagged for a violation, and now I can only take exams in person at a testing center.
Fast forward a bit, I mistakenly scheduled another online exam (the SAA-C03) without remembering the restriction. I felt prepared and thought I did great, but the result was invalidated because of my earlier incident. I've reached out to AWS support to explain everything and see if there's any chance for a review of my online exam eligibility.
So here are my questions for the community:
* Has anyone successfully regained access to online exams after a similar restriction?
* Is there a formal process to request a new review after some time has passed?
* Would creating a new AWS account or using a different email count as a policy violation?
I'm really frustrated since I put a lot of time and effort into studying for this exam. Any advice or similar experiences would be really appreciated!
Thanks a lot!

Hey, sorry to hear about your situation! It sounds frustrating for sure. You might want to try contacting AWS support again with a detailed explanation of your case. Sometimes, they might reconsider if you clearly show that it was an honest mistake.
Honestly, I think you're better off just taking your exams in person for now. It’s not ideal, but trying to go around the rules could lead to more trouble. The best bet is to just complete your certification process without any further violations.
I get that, but traveling to a testing center can be hard for some people, especially in remote areas.
I feel for you! It can be really disheartening when mishaps like this happen. Maybe give it some time and study for the in-person exam? They do have strict policies because of the cheating issues, so you’ll want to be careful moving forward.
Creating a new account is definitely a no-go; it’s against their policies and could lead to serious repercussions. Best approach is to follow the rules and take the exam at a testing center. It's tough, but you gotta stick with the system, you know?
Yeah, I understand that now. I just need to figure out how to avoid this situation again.
Thanks for the suggestion! I’m really hoping they will be understanding.
