I'm trying to log into my root AWS account, but I'm stuck at the phone authentication step. I need to re-verify my phone number, and the website provides a pin that I have to enter during a call from AWS. Unfortunately, the AWS robocaller doesn't seem to recognize the tones I input from my phone app, consistently saying it "didn't recognize the pin" before hanging up.
I've already contacted Customer Support, but they keep sending me the same frustrating response. It usually directs me to AWS help docs, which just loop me back to opening a ticket again instead of providing a real solution. I'm at a dead end here!
I did double-check my phone app, and it's functioning correctly since it worked fine for a test call. Anyone out there have advice on how to navigate this never-ending cycle?

Hey! That sounds really frustrating. I recommend trying to submit a case through the MFA contact form if you haven't done that yet. It goes to a specialized team who might be able to help with issues like yours more effectively. If you get a case ID from them, it can help expedite things! Good luck!
If you're really stuck, one workaround could be temporarily forwarding your calls to another number—maybe one that registers DTMF tones better. It might give you a way around this issue until you find a more permanent fix!
It can be a hassle dealing with support, especially when they just keep redirecting you. Maybe try reaching out through official channels on social media? Sometimes they respond faster there since it's more public. Hope this helps!
I actually did that and got a response pretty quickly. Make sure to keep your case ID handy; it might just speed things up for you!
