Struggling with Coding Basics: Need Simpler Course Suggestions

I've been trying really hard to learn how to code through the Cisco Python Essentials 1 course, but it feels way too overwhelming for me. The course covers topics that I don't think I need to know right away, like detailed explanations of compilers and interpreters. Why do I need to learn about CPython when I'm just starting out? I'm considering switching to the SoloLearn course because it seems to teach Python in a more engaging way. Does anyone have recommendations for simpler courses that are better suited for beginners?

Honestly, you don’t need to dive deep into compilers right away. If the course feels too technical for beginners, it might be time to find something that suits your level better. I usually suggest picking up a beginner-friendly book or looking for online tutorials that are more laid back.

It's interesting how some people say not to worry about how things work, just focus on using them. But understanding the basics can definitely help you later on, especially when troubleshooting issues. It might make you a more valuable developer down the line!

You might want to check out the MOOC from the University of Helsinki. It's free and highly practical, focusing on the essentials of Python while introducing you to programming concepts. Remember, though, questioning everything can hinder your progress; there’s usually a method to the course's madness.

I haven't tried the Cisco course, but it sounds like it might aim at getting people with a tech background up to speed on Python. MIT’s 6.0001 course, on the other hand, is fantastic for newbies. Just take your time with it, jot down notes, and refer back to them instead of googling everything.

Your struggle reminds me of that Linkin Park lyric! Just find a course that resonates with you. There are so many great options out there like Scrimba, CS50P, or Helsinki's MOOC that can provide a better fit for someone at your level.
