Hey everyone! I just reinstalled Cyberpunk 2077 and was testing it out in the Bradbury & Buran market, but I noticed some serious stuttering. So, I decided to run a benchmark using MSI Afterburner. My setup includes an i7-14700KF, DDR4 3000MHz, and an RTX 4090, running at 1440p with Path Tracing and DLSS 4 maxed out.
I benchmarked a route from the teleport point through the market and back, and while my Min, Max, and Average FPS numbers were pretty solid (around 90, 120, and an average of 100 FPS), the 1% lows (around 30 FPS) and 0.1% lows (about 25 FPS) are alarming. This is clearly causing the stutters. I tried lowering the crowd density, which helped a bit, but I'm really wanting smoother gameplay.
I know some of you might criticize my choice of DDR4 memory compared to my other components, but I've updated my rig over time and can't justify the cost of a new motherboard and RAM just now. I'm contemplating whether upgrading to DDR5 7600MHz would significantly reduce these stutters and bring my 1% and 0.1% lows to around 60-70 FPS, but that's another hefty investment of at least 500€. What do you all think?

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend pouring more money into your current setup just for DDR5. Instead, consider jumping to an AM5 platform with something like a 7800X3D. The current platform may not be future-proof, and investing further might not give you the results you're hoping for.
How much RAM do you have? And is your game on an SSD or NVMe? Those factors can impact performance, especially with demanding games like this one.
Keep in mind that path tracing and ray tracing are CPU-intensive. Upgrading your RAM might help a bit, but you might also benefit from a better CPU if you really want to improve performance.
