Hey everyone! I'm facing some annoying ping issues with my PS5 lately. I can't use a LAN cable, and my internet speed is super fast—1000 Mbps upload and download from my router. For about two weeks now, I've been seeing stable ping values around 70-100 ms, but before that, I was enjoying 30-50 ms, which was great considering I'm using Wi-Fi. I've already tried resetting my router and the amplifiers in my home, but nothing seems to help. I could really use some expert tips or advice from anyone who's dealt with this kind of problem!

What ISP are you using? Knowing your router model (like Genexis Platinum-7840) would also help diagnose the issue better.
Also, think about anything that may have changed recently in your setup. Did you move your Wi-Fi router or have any updates? Sometimes background downloads on your PS5 can cause higher pings too! It’s worth checking that out.
If you’re on 5G, it’s possible that increased usage is causing the ping to rise. I know my ping goes up to 100 when too many people are online. I've switched to a combo of cable and 5G, and the cable gives me a way better ping of around 40-50 ms.
Honestly, you might want to consider getting a mesh Wi-Fi system or running some cables if you can. Eero Max7s could help a lot with connectivity. It might be a bit of an investment, but it can significantly improve your gaming experience.
If you're ever allowed to run cables, it's not that expensive! I did this for my setup and it really improved my ping and overall experience. Just a thought!
It sounds like your dynamic IP might be causing issues with your gaming. Have you tried setting a static IP for your PS5? You can do this by going to Settings -> Network -> Set up Internet Connection -> Advanced Settings, and then select Manual IP Settings. Also, try changing your DNS to Cloudflare (1.1.1.1) and Google (8.8.8.8). Additionally, make sure to set your Wi-Fi to only use the 5GHz band, which can help with speed. Also, check your router settings for the 5GHz channel; try setting it manually to channels like 36, 40, or 44.
Yeah, setting the bandwidth to 80MHz on 5GHz can give you a good balance of speed and stability. If your router supports higher 5GHz channels, that could help too!
Since you're dealing with Wi-Fi, interference might be a factor—especially with all the walls in your house. Try adjusting the positioning of your router and console, or switching to different channels to see if that makes a difference.
I'm with Telenor and using the Genexis platinum-7840.
