Hey folks! I'm having a tough time with my Intel i5-13600K processor. I've tried everything from BIOS updates to checking my motherboard and cooler, but it seems like the problem lies with the CPU itself. I sent it to Intel for a return merchandise authorization (RMA), and after just one day, they claimed 'no issue found' and are sending my same processor back. Here's the deal: it runs really hot, reaching max temps around 97–98°C, and idles at about 46–50°C. My Cinebench scores are disappointing, and the PC tends to freeze after one to two hours of use. Even after reporting these issues to Intel, I haven't heard back from them. Now they're suggesting I just accept the same CPU and if it continues to act up, I should send it to a service center that's 80 km away. I'm worried this is a never-ending cycle of sending it in and getting it back with the same problem. Has anyone experienced this? What should I do next? Should I just accept their decision or push for another review?

It sounds like Intel might be skipping the thorough testing. The max temp you mentioned could be high, but it's still within the range of what CPUs can handle. Lower Cinebench scores could point to cooling issues rather than a faulty CPU. Freezing could stem from various causes as well. Considering Intel's response, I'd suggest you keep pushing for a thorough review or consider alternative support options.
I’d first suggest double-checking your cooler setup. What cooler are you using? If it’s a Corsair Nautilus 360RS, you should have decent cooling, but make sure it’s seated properly. Sometimes issues like this originate from insufficient airflow or improper mounting rather than the CPU itself.
Yeah, airflow can make a huge difference. If your case isn’t well-ventilated, that might contribute to those high temps. You should also try running it with the case open to see if it helps!

Exactly! If they're not helpful, maybe looking into local repair shops could be an option as well, even if it's a hassle. But don’t just settle for the same processor back without exploring all avenues!
