I'm a Vtuber who streams on Twitch, and I've been running into some serious lag issues lately. I use a lot of programs simultaneously, more than typical cam streamers. At first, I suspected that my CPU was overheating because it was hitting 100% usage every time I started streaming, so I had my thermal paste checked out. Surprisingly, it was fine. My partner mentioned that my 16GB of RAM might not be enough to handle everything I'm doing, which got me thinking. I'm hoping someone can help me figure out if it's my RAM or CPU causing these lags. Any advice?

First off, thermal paste doesn't affect CPU usage directly. Have you checked if you're using your CPU's video encoder while streaming? Switching to your GPU's encoder could really cut down on the CPU workload. What CPU do you have?

Haha, I thought it was the thermal paste too! I'm using an Intel Core i7-9700F. How can I check if I'm using the CPU video encoder? I'm pretty sure I tweaked some settings in OBS for my GPU.
