I've recently upgraded my gaming setup from a high refresh rate 1080p build to a more powerful 1440p configuration, but I'm having trouble maintaining steady frames and I'm experiencing visual issues, including screen tearing. I'm not sure if it's an issue with my monitor or if I need to do some manual overclocking or undervolting. I'd appreciate any tips or recommendations you might have!
Here are the specs of my current build:
- X570 PG Velocita motherboard
- Radeon 9060 XT 16GB Sapphire Pulse GPU
- 800W or 850W Seasonic Gold PSU (can't remember exactly)
- X4 Neo Trident Z 3600 CL16 RAM
- Ryzen 5700X3D CPU
- Peerless Assassin 120 SE cooler
- 990 Evo Plus 1TB SSD
- WD Blue SN580 SSD (used as a secondary drive)
If you need any more details, feel free to ask!

What games are you playing? If you're getting screen tearing and your monitor supports VRR, make sure FreeSync is turned on. That can really help with keeping the visuals smooth.
Are you referring to 2k or 2.5k resolution? People mix these up a lot. Since you upgraded from 1080p, I'm guessing you're referring to 2.5k. Make sure your new monitor supports FreeSync and enable it if it does! That might help with some of the tearing you're facing.
