I'm transitioning from dentistry to web development after realizing I wasn't cut out for dentistry. I studied dentistry at university but struggled with it, especially during my internships. I've always been interested in tech, so during my internship year, I put in a lot of effort to learn web development. Now, I'm close to completing a scholarship program that will give me a professional credential by the end of the month. However, I'm concerned about the impact of AI in programming and feel anxious about not having a computer science background. Is it too late for me to start this new career?

You're not in trouble! AI isn't advanced enough to take over programming jobs. Sure, it can assist, but it still needs developers who understand what they are doing. I usually find myself working through issues rather than relying solely on AI to solve them for me.

Don’t stress too much about AI affecting your job opportunities. It hasn’t made a significant impact on CS roles yet, and when it does, there will still be a demand for skilled developers. Just focus on improving your skills and getting experience under your belt. You'll do great!
AI has potential, but use it wisely as a productivity booster. Once you’re in the field and experience how AI is really applied, you’ll see its limitations and strengths.
