Switching to Linux for Gaming – Need Some Guidance

I'm planning to switch from Windows 10 to Linux since support for 10 is running out and I'm not keen on upgrading to 11, even though my PC can handle it. I have a bit of experience with Ubuntu and can use some basic commands like 'sudo apt install'. Now that I have a new computer, I'm wondering if Linux is still a viable option for me. Here are my specs: Ryzen 5 5600x, RTX 3050, 32GB DDR4 RAM, NZXT KRAKEN AIO, and 3TB storage (with 1TB NVMe). I'm also curious if my RGB setup will function properly. Additionally, which Linux distribution should I choose for gaming? I mainly use MultiMC for Minecraft, Steam, and occasionally Epic Games. Thanks for your help!

Totally agree with using Heroic and Lutris! They’ve helped me get several of my Epic games up and running on Linux without issues. For distros, I also recommend Nobara Linux or staying with Linux Mint for a smooth experience.

Epic Games can be tricky on Linux, but the Heroic Launcher should do the trick for you! It's an open-source launcher that helps you access Epic Games, GOG, and even some Amazon Games. Give it a shot, and you might be able to get most of your Epic library running smoothly.

Yeah, definitely try Heroic! It worked well for me. If you use Lutris too, you can run many non-Steam games, including those from the Epic Store.

You can definitely install Linux on just about any 64-bit system, so you're all set there! For gaming, I’d suggest trying out Bazzite. If you’re looking for something straightforward for everyday use, Linux Mint is a great choice. Just make sure to check compatibility with your hardware, especially the RGB features!
