Hey everyone! I never thought I'd be on the verge of switching Linux distros, but here we are. I'm currently running Arch with Hyprland. While Hyprland looks pretty cool, I've been struggling with the keyboard shortcuts and honestly just want some icons on my screen for a change. Recently, I stumbled upon Bazzite OS, which is Fedora-based, and I've never tried Fedora before. Do you think it's a good move to give this a shot? I'm a bit hesitant since I've already set up my GRUB with Arch and I'm more comfortable with KDE compared to dealing with Hyprland. What should I keep in mind when trying out Bazzite or Fedora? For Arch, I learned to rely heavily on the terminal. Is it similar for this distro?

Bazzite is a fantastic choice! It's super user-friendly and stable right out of the box. You'll appreciate that it can run Windows games on Steam without needing much setup. Just keep in mind, it doesn’t allow as much tinkering as Arch. If you enjoy customizing everything, that could be a drawback for you.
Definitely test it out! Just make sure it can handle your games.
If you're drawn to Arch's challenge, Bazzite might feel limiting. Fedora is great, but it doesn't have the same level of customization you're used to with Arch. Just a heads up!
That’s a good point! Arch's flexibility can be pretty addictive.
Totally get that! I tried Arch too just for the challenge. Fedora has a nice user experience, but it might not scratch that tinkering itch.
Check out the distro selection page on the wiki for more info! And remember to back everything up regularly. If you're used to the terminal for Arch, you’ll find a bit of that in Fedora too. Just take it slow when trying new commands!
You might find yourself better off ditching Arch. It's all about simplicity with it, not necessarily style. If you're feeling constrained, trying Bazzite might be a good fit!
I hear you! I was wondering if my struggles are more about Hyprland rather than Arch itself.
Great to hear! I’m already on a dual boot, and I’m considering switching if Bazzite fits my needs.
