Thinking About Switching to Bazzite OS from Arch – Is It Worth It?

Hey everyone! So, I'm a bit hesitant about jumping into the world of distro hopping, but here I am, considering it. Currently, I'm using Arch with Hyprland, which honestly looks pretty cool, but I'm struggling with those keyboard shortcuts. I'd rather have some icons on my desktop instead. Recently, I stumbled upon Bazzite OS, which is based on Fedora—a distro I've never tried before. Do you all think it's a good idea to give this a shot? I'm a bit uncertain since I've already set up my GRUB on Arch and have installed KDE to avoid the quirks of Hyprland. But I feel like trying Bazzite wouldn't be too much of a hassle, right? What key points should I keep in mind when switching to Bazzite/Fedora? I know I had to get familiar with the terminal and follow guides with Arch; is there anything similar I should prepare for?

Bazzite is fantastic! It comes with loads of stuff ready to go, so you won’t have to worry about setting up anything complicated. It's quite stable, and you’ll get updates pretty quickly. Just keep in mind that it’s less about tinkering and more about getting things done smoothly. If you prefer a low-maintenance setup, it might be the right choice.

Does Bazzite support NTFS for my Steam games? Should I consider switching my SSD to exFAT for better compatibility with different systems?

If you're drawn to Arch, you might find Bazzite's restrictions a bit limiting. Fedora is a great distro, but if you enjoy customizing your system, you might eventually miss Arch's flexibility. However, Fedora is definitely user-friendly once you get the hang of it!
