Hey folks, I'm looking for some advice on whether I should upgrade my motherboard and CPU soon. I bought a pre-built system back in 2019 and have done a few minor upgrades since then. Here's a quick rundown of my setup:
**Original Parts:**
- Asrock B365 Pro4 motherboard
- Intel i5-9600kf CPU
**Upgraded Parts:**
- 32GB of PC3200 DDR4 RAM (currently running at 2666MHz due to chipset limitations)
- 1TB WD Black SN850x SSD
- RTX 5060 16GB GPU (just upgraded this recently)
I feel like my chipset and CPU might be holding everything back. I mainly play games like Destiny 2 and Black Ops 7/Warzone, along with some RPG and simulation titles. I'm getting decent FPS on medium settings at 1440p. So my question is, should I pull the trigger on a new motherboard and CPU now, or can I afford to wait a while? I have good RAM, so switching to an AM4 setup might let me reuse it. Would that be a solid upgrade, or should I hold off?

Have you monitored your CPU usage while playing? If it's sticking around 90-95% and you're still having a smooth experience, it might not be an urgent upgrade. If you're not losing frames during chaotic moments, your current setup might still be fine for now.
You might want to check your GPU utilization when gaming. If it's running below 100%, then upgrading the CPU could help you out a lot. It sounds like you might gain some extra performance with a new processor.
In Black Ops 7, my GPU is hitting around 96 to 100% during matches.

Yeah, it hovers close to 90-95% in Black Ops 7, so maybe I should hold off a bit.
