Hey everyone! I recently upgraded my PC in October, moving from a 10-year-old CPU to a Ryzen 7 7700 and added 2x16GB of RAM. I kept my old GPU, the GTX 1080, because it was still running pretty well. However, I've been encountering some minor issues lately and I'm seriously considering an upgrade for the GPU. The thing is, I'm not totally sure what to look for when choosing a new one. I'd like to avoid breaking the bank but also don't want to pick something that I'll have to replace in a year or two. What should I keep in mind while looking for a new GPU? Ask me if I've missed any details that could help!

I have a Ryzen 7 7700X paired with a 4070 Ti, and it's an amazing combo! I got my 4070 Ti for around $800 AUD (about $500 USD). If you're looking for something similar, you might find a used one at that price, or a 3080 Ti could be a solid choice too.
What games do you enjoy playing? What resolution are you gaming at? Do you care about Ray Tracing? And what's your target FPS? These factors could really influence what GPU would be best for you.
I was able to snag a Founders Edition 5070 for about $585 after tax at Best Buy. It's a solid GPU that should last me a solid five to six years for my needs. For me, that was a decent price, but I know 'reasonable' can vary widely for everyone.
If you can find an RX 7700 XT at a good price, that could be a great option! It offers modern performance and comes with 12GB of VRAM without a crazy price tag.
