Thinking About Upgrading to a Micro ATX Motherboard—Need Suggestions!

I'm planning to switch to a micro ATX case, probably the Lian Li A3. Based on the videos I've watched with similar setups, it looks like all my current components should fit without any issues. I also checked PC Part Picker to confirm compatibility.

I'm considering upgrading my motherboard to something better that will still work with the Lian Li A3, with a budget of around $250 USD. If it turns out the A520M is good enough, I'm okay with that too! Here's what I'm currently working with:
- AMD Ryzen 5 5600x
- PNY RTX 5070 Ti
- 32GB DDR4 RAM
- TUF Gaming A520M

Thanks in advance for any advice!

From what I’ve seen, upgrading to a PCI Gen 4 motherboard can give you a small FPS boost in some games compared to your current setup, which is on PCI Gen 3. Whether that boost is worth the investment is really up to you.

If you consider overclocking, a B550 motherboard would allow you to do that with your 5600x, but keep in mind your $250 budget. Honestly, you might want to save that money for an AM5 upgrade in the future instead. RAM prices are coming down, but not enough to make the switch worth it right now.

Here’s a video that talks about the performance difference: [Video Link](https://youtu.be/5M4GtpMe1jo?si=puQIH1X3x6sxTDEE) and an interesting old thread on the topic too that might help you decide!

So, if I'm sticking with DDR4 RAM, an AM5 CPU, and a new motherboard really won’t be necessary right now? Just checking because my PC seems to perform well already, but I wanted to ensure I'm not leaving performance on the table.
