Hey everyone! I never thought I'd consider distro hopping, but here I am! I'm currently using Arch with Hyprland, which looks awesome, but honestly, the keyboard shortcuts are a hassle when I just want some icons on my screen. I recently stumbled upon Bazzite OS, a Fedora-based distro I've never tried before. Do you think it's a good idea to switch? I'm hesitant because I've already set up GRUB on my Arch and have KDE to avoid the frustration of Hyprland. Any tips or things I should keep in mind when moving to Bazzite or Fedora? For instance, with Arch, I learned to embrace the terminal and look up guides. Is there anything similar I should be aware of for Bazzite?

Bazzite OS is fantastic! It’s super user-friendly and has everything working out of the box. You won’t need a lot of maintenance, and it supports gaming on Steam really well. Just know that you might not be able to do much tinkering like with Arch, as it has more restrictions. If you're mainly looking for a stable experience without the headaches, you'll love it! Maybe keeping Arch for tinkering while you use Bazzite for everyday tasks could be a good balance.
I’m already dual-booting, so that could definitely work! Quick question: Does Bazzite support NTFS for Steam games, or should I switch my SSD to exFAT?
If you've enjoyed the challenge of Arch, moving to Bazzite might not satisfy you due to its more restrictive nature as an atomic distro. Fedora is great, but just keep in mind that it’s focused more on stability than on customization.
Exactly! I jumped into Arch for the challenge too, but Bazzite's restrictions might not be for someone who loves tinkering.
That makes sense. I appreciate the ease of use with some distros, but I really like tweaking things.
Bazzite should handle NTFS just fine for reading games, but exFAT could offer you seamless compatibility across different OSes. It's worth considering if you're planning on switching.
