Hi everyone! I'm a woman in my mid-40s with a background as an Agile Business Analyst and some experience in system analysis. Before working as a BA, I did DBA development work with SQL for reporting and have some history building websites using good ol' HTML, CSS, and Java back when MS Access was still popular. I did dabble in C++, Unix, and even BBC Basic ages ago.
I haven't really coded in over 20 years, aside from a few tweaks here and there in WordPress. I'm planning to pivot away from my Agile BA role to dive back into coding. However, the landscape has changed a lot since my last coding experience.
I'm thinking about refreshing my skills starting with HTML and CSS via a code camp. After that, I want to get back into Java, but I'm unsure about the next steps. I've heard that the demand is mostly for full-stack developers now, so I might need to get familiar with backend technologies too. I wonder how much of my database expertise will help with that.
Any advice or resources for coding sites or camps would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

You actually have a solid foundation to build on! Given your past experience, jumping into full stack web development with a focus on Java sounds like a good path. You might want to check out The Odin Project; it's a free resource that covers HTML, CSS, and React, moving into backend options like Node or Ruby. If you want to stick with Java, definitely look into the Spring framework as well once you get there!
Thanks for the suggestion! I'm definitely leaning towards mobile apps and responsive design since that's what I've encountered most in my recent BA projects. I'm also curious about software that incorporates AI, but I know I should focus on the basics first.
