I'm putting together my first gaming PC in quite a while (about 15 years!), and I'm leaning towards the Fractal Design Terra ITX case for aesthetic and space reasons. My budget is around £2500, and I want to run AAA titles, ideally at 4K resolution. Here's what I've picked out so far using CyberPower's configurator (the selection was limited, so I couldn't choose AMD CPUs). I'd appreciate any advice on potential improvements, issues with fitting or cooling in this case, or if I need to rethink any components. Thanks!
Here's my build:
**Power Supply:** Corsair SF850 850W 80+ Platinum
**Video Card:** GeForce RTX 5070 Ti - 16GB GDDR7
**Motherboard:** MSI MPG B760i EDGE WIFI ITX
**Memory:** 64GB (2x32GB) DDR5 6400MT/s
**Storage:** 2 x 2TB WD Black SN7100 NVMe SSDs
**CPU Cooler:** Noctua NH-L9i-17xx Low Profile Air Cooler
**CPU:** Intel Core i7-14700F
**Case:** Fractal Design Terra ITX Gaming Case - Graphite

Honestly, for a gaming rig at this budget, I wouldn't recommend sticking with an Intel CPU, especially the 14700F. An AMD 7800X3D or 9800X3D would give you much better performance for gaming. Plus, that Noctua cooler might not cut it in the Terra case since it's pretty tight on space. You might want to swap that for something like an AXP90 or an AIO cooler if you can.
If you're serious about building your own PC, I suggest doing that instead of going with a pre-built option. The Terra case might not be the best choice, especially with that Intel CPU which tends to run hot. For gaming, I'd really suggest looking at a 9800X3D instead. Also, 64GB of RAM is excessive; 32GB is more than enough! And regarding storage, a single 4TB SSD might be cheaper and easier to manage compared to two 2TB drives.
Thanks for the insight! I do think building is the way to go. With the cooling concerns, I might need to look at a different case. Would an AIO cooler make much difference? Also, if I shift to a bigger case, would you still recommend the 9800X3D with a 5080 GPU?
