I'm looking for some feedback on my proposed PC build to ensure it lasts for the next 5-10 years. Here's what I've got so far:

- **CPU**: Intel Core i7-14700K
- **Motherboard**: MSI MAG Z790 TOMAHAWK WIFI (Intel)
- **RAM**: 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5-6000 CL30
- **GPU**: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER
- **Storage**: Currently have a 2TB SSD
- **CPU Cooler**: Arctic Liquid Freezer II 360mm AIO
- **Power Supply**: 850W 80+ Gold Fully Modular Corsair RM850x
- **Case**: Fractal Design North

I appreciate any insights you might have!

If you want your build to last, I’d recommend skipping Intel right now. Consider going for an AM5 CPU instead, since they’ll be supported for a couple more years while Intel's socket changes frequently. Also, you might not need a Z motherboard; a B motherboard would save you some cash and a mATX could work well for you. Your RAM, GPU, and PSU look solid. Just a heads up—check if your storage is NVMe SSD; if it's not, making that switch would be a good idea. And honestly, liquid cooling isn’t a must-have; a high-quality air cooler might give you more performance options for your CPU or GPU instead.

Let's be real, if you're aiming for a build that lasts 5-10 years, the i7-14700K could let you down since the LGA 1700 socket is already becoming outdated. I'd go with something from AMD using the AM5 socket for better future upgradeability. Plus, have you heard about the reliability issues with the 14th gen K processors? That could be a risk!

Thanks for the heads up! I’ll definitely consider switching to the AMD Ryzen 78700X instead.
