Thoughts on Upgrading My PC Components?

Hey everyone! I've been working on upgrading my PC, which currently has a Ryzen 1700 and a GTX 1060. I came across a used 5800X3D for $250 CAD and I'm considering upgrading to either a 9070XT or a 5070Ti. I'm still weighing my options on the GPU, but I know my 550W power supply won't cut it anymore, so I'm planning to upgrade to an 850W PSU. I'm thinking about going for a Corsair RMx. I'm also considering bumping my RAM from 16GB to 32GB, but with current pricing, I might hold off on that for now. My goal is to game smoothly at 1440p/1080p and stick with AM4 until AM6 comes around. I'd love to hear your thoughts!

You might want to look at these components: the 5070Ti is quite pricey here in Canada. For instance, the Asus PRIME GeForce RTX 5070 Ti costs around $1089, while the 9070XT is about $879. As for your PSU, the be quiet! Pure Power 12 M 850W at $149.90 looks like a solid choice.

Awesome, I'll keep those in mind! I've noticed the 9070XT hitting prices close to $800 during recent sales.

Corsair power supplies are solid! Another great option is EVGA if you want to consider alternatives. Both the 9070XT and 5070Ti will work pretty well, but it really depends on which one fits your budget better.

Thanks for the advice! I’ve been checking out the SPL PSU tier list, and it’s quite a bit to take in. Do you have any budget-friendly model suggestions?

Pro tip: When upgrading your PSU, make sure not to reuse any of the cables from your old one. It’s a safety thing you don't want to overlook.
