Tile Slim vs Apple AirTag: Which is Better for Tracking My Wallet?

Hey folks! I'm considering a tracker for my trifold wallet and I'm stuck between the Tile Slim and the Apple AirTag. From what I've seen, the Tile Slim seems to fit better physically in wallets, but I already have a couple of AirTags for tracking my cats. One thing I've noticed is that the AirTags don't show my cats' live locations when I'm away; they only update when I'm nearby or back home, which is a bit of a drawback for tracking. So, I'm curious: will the AirTag make my wallet bulkier compared to the Tile Slim? Is the Tile Slim better for tracking in real-time when I'm far from my wallet? Or should I just stick with the AirTag because I'm already in the Apple ecosystem, despite its limitations? I'd love to hear insights, particularly from anyone who's used both in a wallet setup!

If you're deciding between the two, remember that the Tile only works well when enough people have the app installed nearby. But if you're looking for something more seamless, the AirTag might still be your best option.

I recently came across the Slimca Tracker Card, which works great in wallets because it's only 0.9mm thick and can handle real-time tracking even away from home. If that fits your needs, it might be a better alternative without adding bulk.

AirTags rely on Bluetooth to connect with other Apple devices around you, so they won't update if there's no one nearby. For the bulkiness, I'd suggest checking the dimensions of both the AirTag and the Tile Slim. If the Tile is larger in size, then it might end up being bulkier. As for real-time tracking, remember that neither of them is great at that if they're out of Bluetooth range. The Tile works similarly, so you might not see any improvements with it in that regard.
