I'm looking to upgrade my graphics card to one with at least 8GB of memory. Right now, I have a 4GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650, and I'd like to ensure my PC setup remains safe during the upgrade. Here's my current setup:
- AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core Processor
- 16GB RAM
I'd appreciate any tips on what precautions to take to avoid damaging my PC, as well as any recommendations for affordable yet reliable 8GB graphics cards. Thanks in advance!

Before you make any move, you should check your PSU because that can seriously impact your upgrade. If your power supply is good, you could potentially install cards all the way up to the RX 9070 XT without any issues. For a rough guideline on performance compared to the 5070 Ti:
GTX 1650 (12%) < RX 7600 (29%) < RTX 4060 (32%) < RX 7700 XT (49%) < RX 5060 Ti 16GB (51%) < RX 9070 (72%) < RX 9070 XT (85%) < RTX 5070 Ti (100%). Just make sure you find something within your budget, of course!
You really need to let us know your budget! If you're aiming for an 8GB graphics card, something in the $200-300 range sounds decent. Let us know if that works for you, and we can recommend better options based on that!
I think that budget sounds reasonable based on what I've seen, thanks!
