Tips for Building a Budget PC and Possible Improvements

Hey everyone! I'm building my first PC and I'm looking for some advice on my current build. I can't take my dad's awesome setup with a 3090 and a 7800x3d when I move overseas, so I want to create something solid myself. My goal is to get decent performance for gaming and schoolwork without breaking the bank. My total budget is $2800 NZD, which is about $1400 Euros or $1650 USD.

Here's what I'm currently considering:
- CPU: 9600x
- GPU: 9060xt
- Motherboard: B850
- Storage: 1TB Predator (that should be enough for games and school)
- Power Supply: Rm850e
- Cooler: Thermalright Peerless
- RAM: 32GB DDR5 (if I can snag it at a good price without being sniped by scalpers)

I'd love any recommendations for improvements or alternatives before I make my purchases! Thanks!

Just a heads up, your list seems to creep over the $1400 mark, and you’re missing some essentials like a case, PSU, monitor, keyboard, and mouse. You might want to double-check those prices!

I’ve double-checked the prices, and it seems like I'm just under budget for what I can get here in NZ, even with essentials.

If you're willing to look at second-hand options, I've got two 16GB RAM sticks for about $150 USD. The market here is a bit different, so you might find some good bargains.

Looks like you've done your research! It’s tricky with prices these days, but your current choices should work great for what you need. Just remember that staying within budget is key, especially if you need to pick up additional components like a case or peripherals. You should be good to go!

Hey! Your build looks pretty solid for a budget rig. I checked out some components for you and found a decent option with a simple upgrade. How about considering the 5060 Ti instead? I found a 16GB basic model for a good price, plus the Sapphire Pulse 9060 XT is also a good deal right now. It might give you the performance you need without blowing your budget.
