The trick is that as long as there are no electrolytes present, the current can’t travel through water. So, while adding isopropyl won’t necessarily hurt, the most important thing is ensuring everything is dry before you power it back on!

Before you start cleaning, I'd suggest using compressed air to blow off any dust from the components. Just make sure it's dry air! It’s best to avoid using air from compressors since that can contain moisture and grease. After the dust is cleared, you can use a soft brush to gently remove any remaining particles. If you use isopropyl, just remember that less is more—apply only a small amount and wait for it to evaporate, which usually takes about five minutes. Taking off the dry dirt first is key to avoid spreading the mess around.
