Hey everyone! I'm gearing up to attend KubeCon NA for the first time and would really appreciate some advice from those who have attended before. I'm looking for tips on how to network effectively, which talks might be worth prioritizing, and any must-attend happy hours or side events. The schedule looks a bit overwhelming, so any insights from seasoned KubeCon attendees would be super helpful!

I’m not a pro at KubeCon, but I've been a couple of times. For networking, the lunch area is really good for casual chats. Also, pay attention to what the sponsors are doing at their booths; they often host mini-events and demos. For example, Kelsey Hightower will be signing books at our booth—definitely a chance to mingle! Also, check out conferenceparties.com/kubecon25 for all the side events and happy hours. Stick to 2-3 sessions per day but leave room for spontaneous conversations; those are often the highlights!
Noise-canceling earbuds can be a lifesaver in crowded spaces. Also, smaller events typically provide more valuable interactions than the large ones, so try to focus on those!
Look for booths that offer interesting demos; they often have cool giveaways too! I’ll be giving a talk at the Cast AI booth with Kelsey Hightower and he'll also have a book signing, so if you're interested, stop by!
Get to the venue early to familiarize yourself with the layout. Knowing where the session rooms are will ease your navigation later. If a talk sounds interesting, arrive early to secure a spot and make sure to talk to people! There's also a free conference called Rejekts happening on Nov 8th just before KubeCon, featuring the best of the rejected talks—a good chance for networking in a smaller setting!
Absolutely prioritize good shoes! You'll be on your feet a lot. Remember to take care of yourself: stay hydrated, eat regularly, and take breaks. While talks are great, they’re recorded, so focus on sessions where you want to engage directly with the presenters. That way, you can maximize your networking opportunities. Trust me, that’s key!
Definitely spend some time in the Project Pavilion! It’s a great opportunity to chat with contributors and maintainers of projects you use. It’s like meeting the rockstars of Kubernetes!
I second that! It's the best thing to do for first-time attendees.

:DD love the shoes advice! Made my day!
