I have an interview scheduled tomorrow for an IT Operations Management position, and I'm really excited about it! After spending 23 years with my current employer without any significant benefits, this opportunity is appealing due to its flexibility, proximity to home, and better pay and benefits. However, I haven't had to interview in nearly two decades, so I'm looking for helpful hints and tips to prepare.

Make sure to ask insightful questions during your interview to show you're engaged. Highlight your strengths and past achievements—what makes you the ideal candidate? Remember to follow up with a thank-you email afterward.

If you find yourself stumped by a question, don’t just say you’d Google it. Explain your approach to finding the answer, including what additional information you might seek and how you'd incorporate that into your search.

Since this is a management role, expect questions leaning more towards leadership than technical skills. Be ready with anecdotes about challenges you faced, including how you managed difficult situations and your leadership style. Also, think about how you would handle conflicts among team members or manage morale issues.
