Tips for Speaking on IT Security to Small Businesses?

Hey everyone! I've been asked to be a guest speaker at an event focused on micro businesses (1-2 employees), and they want me to share some advice on cyber security. It's my first time doing something like this, and I've been given a 50-minute slot for the presentation. I'm a bit stuck on how to fill that time effectively. I'm considering a 30-minute talk covering six key topics, followed by 20 minutes for questions. I also need to figure out how much to charge for this since it's my first gig. Any tips on how to structure the presentation and what I should consider in terms of pricing?

I've done a few talks like this! Keep it straightforward. Here are some points you can cover in your 30-minute section:
1. Share some scary stories about hacks to get their attention - make it relatable!
2. Go over the basics of phishing - like not clicking on uncertain links or using bookmarks instead.
3. Stress the importance of running software updates regularly.
4. Talk about using unique passwords for different accounts (a password manager can help!).
This should easily fill your time and keep them engaged with a Q&A session afterward.

I structured my last training exactly like that! Keeping it simple works, especially for varied technical skills in the audience.
