TPM Detection Issues on Lenovo Machines – Anyone Else Experiencing This?

I've been dealing with some frustrating TPM (Trusted Platform Module) detection issues on Lenovo machines, specifically the AIO models like the M820z. It seems like the TPM occasionally just disappears—it won't show up in the BIOS, and updating drivers doesn't seem to help. Has anyone else noticed similar problems in their organizations? It's becoming a hassle to keep decrypting and re-enabling BitLocker whenever this happens.

I've dealt with this by uninstalling the TPM device from the Device Manager and then rebooting, which has worked for me lately. It seems like the TPM gets stuck in an error state but can recover with this workaround without causing any harm.

Yeah, I've encountered this too, especially with L15 and L16 laptops. When I reported it, Lenovo Premier Support was skeptical at first, but after multiple replacements of the entire board, they finally accepted that it was a hardware fault. At least they validated our concerns.

I've never had TPM errors with our Dell machines. We once had a user who needed to re-enter their BitLocker key after a Windows 11 update, but that's the only issue we've faced so far.

We've had some TPM troubles with Dell Optiplex 7050 and 7060 desktops, which might share a similar TPM module with the M820z. In our case, disconnecting the power often helped resolve the issue temporarily.

We've faced a lot of TPM failures on laptops—it can be a real annoyance!

Are you using hybrid-joined Entra by any chance? That could be a factor.
