Traveling with a 24-inch Monitor: Tips and Advice

Hey everyone, I'm getting ready for a flight from Dublin to India and I'm thinking about bringing a 24-inch monitor with me. Has anyone had experience doing this? I have a few questions:
- Can I carry it on the plane, or does it need to go in checked luggage?
- Is it safe to pack a monitor in checked baggage?
- Will there be any issues with airport security or customs in India since it's for personal use?
- Any suggestions on how to pack it to avoid damage?
I'd really appreciate any insights or personal experiences. Thanks!

I've traveled with my 27-inch monitor a few times. I just wrapped it in a blanket and packed clothes around it for cushioning. It's worked fine for me. But keep in mind, you might need to buy a new power cable when you get there. Just make sure it’s secured and padded well!

Did you check it in or take it as carry-on?

How did you carry it? Was it in the cabin or in checked baggage?

Honestly, if it's feasible, buying a replacement in India might be the way to go. Monitors are pretty affordable there, and even with any tax, it could save you the hassle of traveling with it. If you decide to bring it, using the original box with the proper foam padding is a smart move. Just my two cents, but I've never done this myself, so I'd take it with a grain of salt!

For carry-on, I'd say it's generally accepted since people travel with laptops all the time. But, it's best to double-check with your airline just to be sure. As for checking it in, it really depends on how well you pack it; make sure to use lots of padding and secure it well. Airport security shouldn't be a problem since people often carry devices like this.
