Trouble Booting into BIOS After Motherboard Swap

Hey everyone! I recently swapped my old ASUS B450M-A PRIME II motherboard for a Gigabyte B550M AORUS ELITE AX due to some frustrations with the ASUS board. After the installation, my computer won't even reach the BIOS screen. All the fans power on (including my GPU and CPU cooler), but it seems like I can't force a shutdown or restart using the case's reset button. However, I can power it on just fine.

Here's what I'm working with:
- Motherboard: Gigabyte B550M AORUS ELITE AX
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600
- CPU Cooler: DeepCool AK-620
- RAM: 4x HyperX Fury DDR4 4GB
- Graphics Card: RTX 3080 (10GB)
- Storage: Seagate Beskar Ingot Drive Special Edition Firecuda NVMe SSD

I've already checked a bunch of things: I made sure the 24-pin and 8-pin CPU power connectors are secured, verified the front panel connectors, ensured the CPU cooler is tight, and checked the RAM and GPU connections. I even tried an older GTX 1050ti just in case. I also looked over the motherboard manual and it says that it should support my CPU without any problems.

The screen keeps flickering between a standby black screen and one that lights up (as if it's receiving a signal), but nothing ever appears. I was using the computer just a few hours before switching motherboards, so I'm hoping everything else is fine. I'd love any suggestions you might have to get this sorted out!

It sounds like a BIOS issue at first glance, but looking up your motherboard specs, the Gigabyte board should support your CPU right out of the box. One thing to consider is memory training, which can sometimes take a long time (up to 45 minutes). You might want to just let it sit for a bit and see if it sorts itself out. Also, if you have a front-panel speaker, plug that in to hear any beep codes — it could give you clues if something's wrong with your motherboard. Hope that helps!

Did you make sure to reconnect the extra 8-pin power cable? Sometimes, that can be easy to overlook during a swap. You need to ensure that both the CPU and GPU connectors are properly connected, so just double-check those to rule it out!
