Hey everyone! I'm facing a frustrating issue with a brand new Lenovo E16 G2 laptop. After installing all the necessary drivers and Windows updates, I encountered the 'inaccessible boot device 0x7b' error after a restart. This isn't the first time I've seen this happen; previously, I had a client with an HP laptop who faced the same issue after a restart. I tried correcting the boot and EFI files, but nothing worked, forcing us to restore from a backup. It's strange that a brand new laptop would have the same problem. Is anyone else experiencing this? Could this be a common issue with Windows 11? I would really appreciate any insights!

That error typically points to a driver issue for the hard drive controller. It's possible that the updates switched the SATA operation mode in the UEFI/BIOS, or there might be a problematic driver update at play here.
I've encountered this on three different devices recently: an HP mini, a Dell mini, and an HP ProBook. They all started having this issue within just a week after Windows updates. Very concerning!

What did you end up doing to fix it? Did you reinstall Windows?
